It looks like we could have another early start to the growing season. Spring is fast approaching.  There is the first signs of the growing season in the young vine Grenache, I am sure the old vines will not be far behind.

The proteas up in the mountain are also in full flower.

The winter has been quite mild. We have had low snowfalls but decent rainfall. The ground is nicely saturated and the dams are full, but others across the Western Cape have struggled to get enough water. Lets hope they get some rain soon.

In the vineyards we have finished pruning and are busy putting out compost and preparing for the growing season. We had a visit from some  deaf students, who are working on a plant production diploma at the National institute for the Deaf. They spent a few days pruning with the team. It was quite an experience.

The wines that were bottled back in June starting to come out of their shell. Our Rosé is looking great and can’t wait to release it this summer!
